Disposition Authorities for Individual Classifications for Headquarters Case Files. Part B: Classification 103. Interstate Transportation of Stolen Cattle.

This classification was established in 1941 and related to investigations of the theft of cows, bulls, oxen, steers, heifers, and calves. Investigative activity declined in the 1950's when U.S. Attorneys expressed their preference to allow prosecution by state and local authorities. In 1952, liaison with Mexico became an issue.

The FBI established this classification when it assumed responsibility for ascertaining the protection capabilities and weaknesses of defense plants. Each plant survey was a separate case file, with the survey, supplemental surveys, and all communications dealing with a plant insofar as plant protection was concerned, filed together.
